The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that one person out of my companions will embrace death in the jungle and a consortium of muslims will appear in his funeral. I am sure that person will be me.
When will I die?
Hazrat Fazalah Bin Fazalah رضی اللہ عنہا says that once Ameer ul Momineen, Hazrat Ali رضی اللہ عنہا got terribly ill at the site of ‘Yansaba’. So I went there with my father to visit him. During the conversation, my father said: O Ameer ul Momineen رضی اللہ عنہا ! You are present at this desolate place in such agonizing ailment. If you embrace death here, I fear that no one will be able to attend your funeral other than the illerate and poor pople of ‘Jaheena’ tribe. That is why I humbly request you to come with us to Madina Munawwarah, if this accident occurs there then there would be numerous Ansaar and Muhajir fans and followers of yours to say your funeral prayer and make arrangements for your coffin. To this Hazrat Ali رضی اللہ عنہا replied: O Fuzalah! Be satisfied that I will not die of my ailment here. Hear me that I will not embrace death at this place until I am being hit by a sword and my beard and forehead are covered in blood. (Azalatul Khafa, Maqsad 2, page no. 273)
Commentary: Therefore, it so happened that the cursed Abdul Rahman Bin Muljim Muraadi Khaarjee hit his sword on Hazrat Ali رضی اللہ عنہا forehead that tore the head till Hazrat Ali’s رضی اللہ عنہا jawbone. At that moment Hazrat Ali رضی اللہ عنہا uttered these words: “I swear by the Lord of Kaaba that I have become successful.” Hazrat رضی اللہ عنہا succumbed to the wounds and embraced martyrdom and the words he had spoken to Hazrat Fazalah رضی اللہ عنہا at the site of Yansaba became true word by word.
The blessed individual to have read the Quran in a few moments: These marvels have been proven by the narrations of Sahiha that Hazrat رضی اللہ عنہا used to start the recitation of Quraan while putting his foot on one side of the horses’s saddle and by the time he put his foot on the other side, he had finished the recitation of the complete Quraan. The marvels of Prophet’s ﷺ Companion who embraced death in a jungle:
It is found in the narrations that when the time of Hazrat Abu Zar Ghaffari’s رضی اللہ عنہا death approached, his wife began to cry a lot. Hazrat رضی اللہ عنہا asked: Why do you cry my wife? The wife said: Why shouldn’t I cry? You are dying in the middle of a deserted jungle and we have no arrangements for coffin or anyone with us. I am worried how am I going to make arrangements for your funeral alone in this isolated place? To this, Hazrat Abu Zar Ghaffari رضی اللہ عنہا replied: Don’t cry or get worried. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that one person out of his companions will embrace death in the jungle and a consortium of muslims will appear in his funeral. I am sure that person will be me. That is why you should not worry. Just wait and I am sure a group of people will approach soon. These turned out to be his last words. His wife states that right after her husband’s death, some riders appeared all of a sudden. A young man took out a coffin from his bag pack and Hazrat رضی اللہ عنہا was buried in the same. She says that those riders made desirable arrangements for Hazrat Abu Zar Ghaffari’s رضی اللہ عنہا funeral prayer and burial. Fresh dates on a dried tree:
Hazrat Hasan رضی اللہ عنہا has many marvels at his disposal out of which one is very famous. Once while travelling, he passed by a date farm where all the trees had dried. One of the sons of Hazrat Zubair Bin Al Awaam رضی اللہ عنہا was also along. The Companions decided to encamp in that orchard and the servants laid his bed on the root of a dried tree. The son of Hazrat Zubair Bin Al Awaam رضی اللہ عنہا said: O son of the Prophet ﷺ! I wish there were fresh dates on this haggard tree so we could have them to our heart’s content. When Hazrat Hasan رضی اللہ عنہا heard this, he secretly prayed an invocation. In a matter of minutes, the dried up trees turned lush and green and became loaded with fresh and ripe dates. Looking at this, one of the cameleers said: I swear upon God! This is a work of magic. When the son of Hazrat Zubair Bin Al Awaam رضی اللہ عنہا heard this, he scolded the cameleer and asked him to seek pardon. He said that it was not magic but a marvel of the acknowledged invocation of the Prophet’s ﷺ Prince. Then all the caravan mates plucked out the dates and feasted on them till they were contented.

Face became a mirror:
Hayyan Bin Umair رضی اللہ عنہا says that once the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ lovingly rubbed his luminescent hand over the face of Hazrat Qatada Bin Mulsihaan رضی اللہ عنہا. After that incident, the Companion (RA) got the marvel that his face always glimmered with a youthful glow despite his old age. The face of Hazrat Qatada رضی اللہ عنہا used to glow with such eminence that at the time of his death, a woman passed by him and I could see her reflection on his face as if I was looking at her face in a mirror.
